He joined Sudarsan Mahavidyalaya, 42 Mauza, Cuttack as lecturer in English (1988); taught English language and literature at Bagadhar Brahma Kishan College, Jalahghat (October 1991 – February 2012) amidst loric silence and serenity of the Bhutan foothills in Baksa (Assam); served Pramathesh Barua College on river Gadadhar as Principal (February 2012 – August 2013) in Gauripur, a hoary place where history sits and whimpers in dreamy askance.
A bilingual writer who has published poetry and criticism in Odia and English, Asit K Das has several research papers on comparative literature, culture and translation studies published in national and international journals; completed 3 UGC sponsored minor and major projects; participated in several national and international seminars and conferences, and guided 11 research scholars for M.Phil and PhD degree. He has been honored with Indira Gandhi Sadbhavana Award for his role in Education and Social wellness.
His administrative profile includes Head of Department, Co-ordinator, Extension Education, Co-ordinator, UGC Remedial-Coaching Programme, and Co-ordinator, Steering Committee for NAAC Assessment & Accreditation (B. B. Kishan College); Principal academic and executive officer of P. B. College, always with a single minded pursuit for institutionalizing the culture of quality. Presently, he works as Controller of Examinations in Bodoland University with the motto – to Help, Serve, Reflect, Learn and Grow.
