The University has a Post Graduate Board and Board of Studies to look into various academic aspects such as curriculum/syllabus design, development of teaching-learning methods etc. for the smooth functioning of the PG departments.

    4. Eight persons from amongst the professors and head of PG department of the University and constituents colleges to be nominated by the Vice-Chancellor for a period of two years on rotation - Members
    5. Two members of the Academic Council, who are not Professors and heads of PG Departments of the University, to be nominated/elected by Academic Council for a period of two years on rotation - Members
    6. One member from the Board of Examination to be nominated by the Vice-Chancellor for a period of two years on rotation - Member
    7. Four eminent researchers, who may or may not be professors of the University, to be nominated by the Vice-Chancellor - Members
    8. Academic Registrar, B.U. - Member
  • Board of Studies:
    1. There shall be a Board of Studies in each branch of Study. Those branches shall be specified, and when needed there will be modification by the Academic Council.
    2. Each Board of Studies shall consist of the following members, namely:
      1. Chairman – A Professor or Head of Department of the University in the branch concerned, nominated by the Vice-Chancellor;
      2. Three persons with qualifications in the branch of study elected by the Academic Council;
      3. One expert consultant not connected with the University nominated by the chairman with approval of the Vice-Chancellor.
    3. Subject to the previous approval of the Vice-Chancellor, the Board may consult other expert or experts when necessary on any matter with its field.

  • Three persons from amongst the Professors and the Head of Departments of the University and the Constituent colleges elected by the academic council.
  • Six Principals, including at least three from professional colleges, elected by the Academic council from amongst its own members
  • Three persons who may or may not be members of the Academic council, nominated by the Vice-Chancellor
  • Ten persons to be elected from amongst the teachers of affiliated colleges.
  • One member of the Examination Committee to be nominate by the Vice-Chancellor.
University Research Committees

The university has three different committees for maintaining effective and quality research. The committee is responsible for properly guiding the research activities for the overall improvement of the social and economic conditions and cultural welfare of the people. Its central purpose is to engage the student community in creativity, intellectual and personal development through research, training and leadership:

  • Departmental Research Council: There is a Departmental Research Committee (DRC) constituted as mentioned below in each Department or Centre for Studies:
    1. Head of the Department – Chairperson and Convener
    2. All recognized Research Ph.D Guide /Supervisors of the Department – Members
    3. Academic Registrar or his representative – Member
    4. The Dean of faculty or his representative – Member

Hostel Management Committee

The university provides the hostel facilities for boys and girls. However, the seats are limited; therefore, looking into the matter, the hostel management committee strictly follows certain rules and regulations at the time of hostel seat allocation. The process of selection for accommodation will begin with admission process. The selection for the hostel seats will be strictly on the merit basis. The decision of committee will be final in the matter of hostel seat allocation.

Anti-Ragging Committee

The Bodoland University has zero tolerance towards ragging and other anti-social activities, which may pollute the academic atmosphere of the University. In this Connection University authority may expel the student from the University if any student is found involved or indulged in such activities. The action taken by the committee will be towards honor of verdict made by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India to check the ragging and other such social activities in the University campus.

Women Cell, Bodoland University

It is the commitment of Bodoland University to provide quality education to women alongside providing a campus safe for women free from exploitation, harassment and violence and also an environment where they are treated with respect and dignity.
